Let’s READ!

Whether in person or via Skype, an author visit is an incredible opportunity for your students to connect with the person and process behind the story as well as set the stage to engage and inspire a wide range of future readers and writers.

Why would I be great for your school?

I’m Affordable! As an educator, I know school budgets for author visits aren’t always overflowing, and I want every school to have the opportunity to provide their students with this experience.

I’m Entertaining! My presentation is engaging, interactive, entertaining, and can be tailored to specific grade level content. Along with a read aloud of my book, I will discuss my background, my journey as an author, the lessons my books teach, and how I used the writing process to become an author.

I’m Experienced! With over 13 years of classroom experience, engaging students and encouraging a love for literacy is my daily mission.

Bonus: I bring a take away sticker for every student who hears my presentation as well as donate a personalized copy of my book to your school library.

Author Visit Fees:

If your school does a book Pre-Order, the visit fee will be waived! Travel Expenses (if required) will still be included.

Session Details:

Each 30 minute session/presentation includes a read-aloud of my book Boo, props and storytelling of the actual event that sparked the idea for the book, and information on how I used the writing process to become an author.

My goal is to work with you on aligning my presentation with what you wish for your students to gain from this experience, so I am open to brainstorming with you on formats, presentation lengths, and specific grade level content…just ask!

Author Visit Options:

Skype Visit: $50/session

Venue Visit: $75/session

Local School Visit (80 miles or less from Valdosta, GA)

Full Day Session: $400 (1 session/presentation per grade level or up to 6 separate presentations)

Half day-$200 (up to 3 presentations)

All other School Visits (over 80 miles away from Valdosta, GA)

Full day-$400, plus travel expenses (1 session/presentation per grade level or up to 6 separate presentations)

Half day-$200, plus travel expenses (up to 3 presentations)

Travel Expenses:

Travel expenses include rental car or taxi/Lyft/Uber (as needed), airfare (as needed), lodging (required if destination is over 100 miles from Valdosta). Driving expense is estimated ahead of visit based on the federal standard mileage allowance.
